This overran and captured the VC HQ for Saigon-Giadinh MR4. 100,000 pages of documents were captured in a tunnel complex. Message is: Searching for Commanding Officer of (670th?) long-haul truck company with the 124th Transportation Command, 24th Battalion at Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam from about June 1970-1971. He was a career officer, an Army Captain at that time. He was a short, stocky Italian from New York with a name similar to... "CPT. Michael D. Teduchi (or, Cammaretti,etc.)". We met on my Pier 5 (Ammo) when he first arrived in Vietnam, and before he took over his truck company. The first time I volunteered to go TDY as his machine-gunner we were cut in two at Duc My Pass enroute to Buon-Me-Thuot and turned back.One boy was killed (SP4 Harold Edwin Myers),and at least 4 boys were wounded on 31 Mar '71. A couple of days later, after the road had been repaired, we were successful...but it was with a different convoy commander (maybe a 1LT) and the 124th threw every truck company they had at this attempt. I am also interested in the Army Chaplain who also volunteered for at least this second attemp! t, as I did again ,to see this convoy through (plus, miscellaneous other convoys to Da Lat, etc.).
