We have three delightful children, all born without any noticable agent orange related problems. Our oldest, Michelle, is now 23 and a single working mother of our one grandchild, Nicole. Monica is 19 and coming home from Boston, MA, where she has been working as a Nanny since high school, and hopes to attend college this fall. Michael at 15 and still in high school is very much a source of joy in our lives at home. We are truly blessed to have brought up such delightful children in these tumultruous times we live in today.
Beverly has mostly been a stay-at-home Mom while I bounced around different construction jobs until 1980. I bought my own truck and ran cross-country, mostly from the west coast and back to Minnesota, while leased to Halvor Lines Inc., a Duluth, MN, trucking company. About 1991 Beverly obtained her commercial truck driving license, and we started running team as much as we thought we could leave our son Michael at home with only the supervision of his two older sisters.
Once Michael enters college or joins the Army, both he has shown interest in, we have dreams of spending a great deal of time together on the road visiting all of the many former Bravo Company-2/506th-101st Abn vets that we have located since this journey began. This could never have happened if Beverly and I hadn't decided, back in 1990, to sober up together, which has allowed us the opportunity to have these dreams.
