Where served: Camp Pendleton Calif. & Viet Nam (So. of Chu Lai)
When served: 1965, 1966

Message is: I served with "Joe" Greenwald starting Oct., 1965, at Camp Pendleton. We shipped out with the 1st. MarDiv in Jan., 1966 for Viet Nam. We went to Okinawa first, for training. I was a Sgt at the time, and Joe was a LCPL. I was the NCO in charge of a Naval Gunfire team, with a Navy Lt.JG as the team leader. I do not remember anyone else's name on the team, except for Joe. My team went TDY to Subic Bay in the Phillipines from Okinawa, before going to Viet Nam. Our team was on TDY in the Phillipines from from March 12 to June 21, 1966 before getting to Viet Nam. The rest of the Division stayed in Okinawa before going to Viet Nam. We were stationed south of Chu Lai, outside of An Ton. I was wounded on Aug 12, 1966, when my team was attached to a Vietnamese Ranger Bn. for operation Colorado, which was being held in reserve. I had just gotten off radio watch at 02:00AM, and had just fallen asleep, when I heard a mortar round go off just outside our tent. As I was ! getting my gear together to get out of the tent, the next mortar round landed in the tent. I know there were other people wounded, but I have no idea who it was, or how bad they were hit. I would appreciate any help in finding any of my teammembers.

Trying to locate: Vincent R Stiffel
Branch of Service: Marine
Unit was: na
Where served: vietnam
When served: 1967-1969

Message is: My husband, a former marine, recently bought a house once owned by a vincent r. stiffel. upon returning from vietnam, Mr. Stiffel married a debbie guarino, a few years later she murdered him along with her boyfriend, she is serving a life sentence. as we remodel the home we come across mementos of vincent, although i never knew him i am saddened by what happened to him. an old sign that he made states " vietnam veterans of america, chapter 631" i am repainting it and putting it back up out of respect for the man. I feel like i know him just by coming across these items and would like to know more about him. I think it is so sad that he made it through the war only to come home and be killed by someone he loved, she shot him as he slept, then buried him in the backyard, where he was discovered a year later.

I was two years old when it happened and I have no real memory of my father. However, I am very much interested in being in touch with anyone who served with him in the Marine Corp. I have been searching for a unit roster or any means to attempt to get information. I have been in a void for over 30 years about my dad. Trying to locate: Capt. Barry Bridger
Branch of Service: Marine
Unit was:
Where served:
When served:

Message is: I am looking at the POW/MIA bracelet of Capt. Barry Bridger who was taken captive on January 23rd, 1967. I bought the bracelet in 1969. I was 12 years old. I vowed to wear it until MY soldier came home. That was how I thought of him. MY soldier. I wore that bracelet every day (never taking it off)until the day that he came home. I was watching the news for the names of the soldiers that had come home or were coming home like I did almost every night, when MY Capt. Barry Bridger walked up to a bevy of microphones to announce the marvelously obvious, that HE WAS HOME! I was crying and screaming. My mother came running, "What happened?", "What's wrong?", "Are you ok?" To which I responded, "He's home, Momma, He's home!" Well, life went on. I got married. Life became more and more hectic. I am older now and appreciate life more and what is truly important. I wish to find My soldier to send to him HIS bracelet. Can you help me find him or refer me to an organizati! on that can help me find him? Thank You for taking the time to read this. Sincerely, Cindy :) COlsenMCSE@adelphia.net
