Map Test Page

If the links hold up, you should be able to "walk" the map of Vietnam around using the cross-hairs
which show as you move your mouse cursor. Where ever you point and click will then be the new "center" of the map in the display
This map begins with Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) as the centerpoint.
Use the legend icons in the lower right corner as follows:
The first icon of the globe allows you to choose from a drop-down menu the War Era or other views of the country;
The second icon crosshairs allows you to either choose a specific location from a drop-down menu or click to activate then move your cursor to the map and a new 'center point' is established;
The third and fourth icons control map image contrast;
The fifth icon of the hand activates the "grip and move" function (as used in .PDF documents);
The last two icons control the zoom in / zoom out functions. Click the icon first, then the map to activate.
The bottom left of the map has a continuously changing Latitude / Longitude reading.
Let us know what you think about how useful this is.
NOTE 1: It is easy to get lost because of the size of the window. Keep track of "which way you go" so you can re-orient yourself.
NOTE 2: This is a contemporary map, showing the
current names of towns/cities, which in many cases won't coincide with towns/villages which many Veterans might recall
from the 1960s and 1970s. Choose the War Era view from the globe icon drop-down menu to switch to a 1969 version map.
NOTE 3: This page works with INTERNET EXPLORER. Netscape seems to have a hard time bringing up the graphics. If you can't see anything,
or the functions don't work right, you may have to temporarily switch over to IE for proper viewing.
